History

JSC "LIDO Marine" is a Norwegian owned  Lithuanian company, established originally as JSC "Lauremija" in 2002, but its roots can be traced as far back as 1988.  The company's founder and general director has considerable experience in building and contracting, ship interior outfitting, industrial insulation and ventilation systems in the Norwegian onshore and offshore industry.

By basing the company in the port city of Klaipeda, Lithuania, LIDO Marine is able to take advantage of the wealth of experience in the ship building industry of the city.  During post-war soviet times, Klaipeda was one of the major centres of ship repair and ship building for the soviet shipping industry.  Four major ship building yards and numerous related businesses operated in the city; even today Klaipeda is host to 43 ship-repair, building and technical services companies (http://www.investinklaipeda.com).  Entry to the European Union has further strengthened the position of businesses located in Lithuania, allowing better access to European and world-wide markets, and also providing greater security for international clients.

In 2006 Lauremija bought facilities near Klaipeda and established "Baltic Marine Furniture", enabling it to produce marine furniture to supply its ship and offshore fitting operations. The rapid growth of Lauremija led to some restructuring and the renaming of its main operations as LIDO Marine.

The Future

This year LIDO Marine aims to focus of the following complimentary goals:

Improved HSE standards

Implementation of better management systems

Improved purchase and supply systems

But at LIDO Marine we will also take care not to lose site of those qualities which have enabled the company to get this far - quality, reliability, flexibility.
